After India's exit from the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli went on to say that he has been captaining the team in the T20 format for the past seven years and that the team has done a fantastic job throughout this time, for which he praises all of the players. He also commended Ravi Shastri, adding that while coaching the team, he maintained a positive attitude and made a huge contribution to India's cricket.
Although Virat Kohli will continue to captain India in ODIs and Tests, his coordination with Ravi Shastri as coach has come to an end.
Ravi Shastri was a member of Kapil Dev's winning World Cup team in 1983, as well as the winner of the Benson & Hayes mini World Cup cricket competition in Australia in 1986.
Sunil Gavaskar led India to victory in the competition. Then Ravi Shastri received a high-end automobile as a trophy, which he used to drive the entire Indian squad around the field. At the time, the money for Man of the Match or Man of the Tournament was distributed among the entire team.
The main question now is how successful Rahul Dravid will be as India's coach when Ravi Shastri leaves, and how many heights can Rohit Sharma be able to provide the squad as captain instead of Virat Kohli in T20 cricket?
In a BBC interview with cricket analyst Ayaz Memon said, Ravi Shastri made a significant impact to Indian cricket as a coach. India has accomplished a lot thanks to his and Virat Kohli's partnership.
England recently defeated England in their home ground. Aside from it, the club won a lot of games that they had never won before. Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli instructed the team to play aggressively, and while they were heavily chastised for it, the team reaped the benefits. He's also been chastised for making too many changes inside the team. In some ways, he was in a rush to make the team the best. If you look at his track record over the last three years, you'll notice that his side has gone from 1st to 3rd in ODIs and T20s. The team has been extremely consistent overall. Unfortunately, New Zealand and the World Test Championship in the past have met in the World Cup semi-finals in 2019.As a coach, what new ideas would Rahul Dravid bring to the team? In this regard, another cricket critic G Rajaraman claims that Rahul Dravid's specialization is working with India's bench strength. He has worked with a number of players from India's A and Junior teams, some of whom are now awaiting selection for the national team.
Rahul Dravid is well aware of his own skills and flaws. Many Indian players will only be with the club for one or two seasons, therefore Dravid's presence is beneficial because he has worked with young players in the past four years. When he took over as captain after Sourav Ganguly, he was also unique as a captain.
